"Life is not the greatest good. Death is not the greatest evil. We are all going to pass. Not one of us will remain here. We are not citizens of this world but citizens of Heaven. This is not our true home. We are merely passing through. Our true home is Heaven. There is where our citizen lies. That is our fatherland. But to get there we must pass through the door of death after having lived our life in Christ and for Christ. Through death, we pass from a life of sorrow and suffering to a life where ' eye has not seen, ear has not heard what God has prepared for those who love Him." (Saint Paul)

"Oh That I had wings of a dove! For then I would fly away and be at rest!" Psalm 55:6

After the Memorial Service held at Saint Paul's Church, The family chose a beautiful and meaningful addition to the service held today for Nikolaos.

Throughout the dove recurs as an image of peace, promise and Christ's presence.
When the dove returned to Noah with an olive twig, his return promised us a life that will live forever even after death.

As we witness the release of these doves, may we be reminded of God's peace and his presence here today.
Throughout history the white dove has symbolized love, peace, hope, faith and the Holy Spirit. This dove release today is a symbolic gesture for us to express our love and help us to say “good bye for now.” The single white dove represents Nikolaos' pure spirit and will be released to soar into the sky. Three additional doves representing the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit will then fly up to meet him and guide him on his final journey home.

Finally, upon the horizon, they slip silently from sight; and we say “There, they are gone!” Gone
where? Gone from sight, that is all. They are still as strong, beautiful and brilliant.  And we can be
sure that, just as we say,“There, they are gone!” other voices say, “There! Here, they come!”
